Do you truly understand the business of travel nursing?

Buy Low, Sell High. You Are The Commodity Being Sold.

There are at least two contracts involved with every travel nurse assignment. They both involve the selling of your services to a Medical Facility. You only get to see one of them and neither of them is written for the purpose of maximizing your earnings.

The Travel Agency Works For The Hospital, Not For You.

The first contract involves the travel nurse agency and the client hospital. The travel nurse agency negotiates a “master contract” with each of their client hospitals for the highest hourly billing rate they can “sell”. The billing rate varies greatly with different locations. Most travel nurses are never allowed to view the details of the master contract. This contract governs the relationship between the hospital facility and the agency.

The Nurse Recruiter Works For The Travel Agency, Not For You.

The travel agency employs nurse recruiters. Facility contract in hand, the recruiters work to locate a nurse willing to travel to that particular hospital.

Enter the second contract. Each nurse accepting an assignment has an employment contract with the travel agency which governs the relationship between the agency and the nurse. In negotiating the contract, the recruiter desires to persuade the nurse to accept the least amount of reimbursement possible . With that, the nurse is “bought”. The difference between the figures outlined in the master contract and those outlined in the nurse employment contract comprise the travel agency’s gross profit margin for the assignment.

If you think that sounds a little complicated, let’s add even more perspective.

There are thousands of nurse staffing agencies operating across America serving thousands of hospitals.  Each of those relationships between agency and hospital is governed by it’s unique master contract. A large hospital may be served by a dozen travel agencies. Each of those agencies have their own contract with the hospital, each with their own billing rate.

It’s not unusual for contracted nurses to arrive at an assignment and find their traveling coworkers receiving pay rates much different from their own. This is, in fact, the norm. Each agency may serve multiple hospitals within the same city, each with their own contract and bill rate. Most of those Agencies employ multiple Recruiters, all working to make the best deal possible for the agency when obtaining the services of the Nurse.

So how do you know you are making a good decision before signing the contract? How do you know you are getting a fair deal?

Knowledge is power. Ignorance Is Not Bliss.

Most novice travelers don’t even know what they don’t know. Most experienced travelers still have difficulty gathering all the information necessary to make the most informed decisions. That’s where we come in.

We are a service which pays for itself.

Are the services affordable?

You pay Your Nurse Agent a $50 fee to start the process but it’s a service which pays for itself.

Temporary staffing contracts usually call for a 36 hour work week and run for a period of 13 weeks.  If, through our bidding process, you are able to obtain a contract at only $1 more per hour, that’s an additional $468 in your pocket. You will have recouped our fee in the first 50 hours of the contract . $2 more? Do the math. That alone would make our services a bargain. All remaining fees are paid by the travel agency which you select. Can you afford not to use our service?
